Platja de Magaluf is situated at 2,6 nautical miles from Port Portals, between Cala Vinyes and Punta de sa Torre Nova or sa Porrassa. This beach is very long and it is the result of an artificial regeneration. It has fine-grained white sand. It is 1600 meters long and 60 meters wide.

The touristic buildings, the night club and other facilities for mass tourism form the urban setting of this beach which is one of the most important touristic villages of Calvià.

Anchoring: The north are of this bay is open to wind from the east or southeast. The marine and underwater conditions for anchoring boats are good on a sandy ground with seaweed and the depth ranges from two to five metres. Illot de sa Porrassa helps to protect it from the eastern wind, but there are some rocks located towards northwest.
